Orange Malone Ltd was set up in 2004 by Sophie Peterson, who has worked in the recruitment industry since 1996. She has an MA in History & Politics from the University of Edinburgh and has experience of recruiting for several different industries, including IT and banking and finance.
Prior to recruitment, Sophie worked as a journalist and then as a financial advisor for a large insurance company for three years. She offers a detailed understanding of both recruitment and insurance issues.
In 2023, she was joined by experienced actuarial recruiter, Adam Goodwin, who also has c20 years of experience in this sector.
The Orange Malone Search process – ‘an inch wide and a mile deep’:
Whilst there are contingent opportunities, an increasing amount of Orange Malone’s activity is on a Search basis with clients. Using their bespoke database of thousands of candidates within consulting, insurance and re-insurance, Sophie and Adam will build a list of suitable candidates who will then be contacted by email, phone and in-person.
This usually means a process of several hundred contacting attempts to narrow the targeted pool of possibility to a shortlist based on qualifications, availability and interest. They do all the leg-work of processing, evaluating and qualifying – so you don’t have to!
As a small specialist agency, Orange Malone does a lot of repeat business with a limited number of clients. Therefore, we have very few restrictions in place and can often directly recruit out of your key competitors and top-level consultancies.

Orange Malone Ltd has a bespoke database of thousands of qualified actuaries and students, which is constantly updated. Cutting edge functionality enables us to search for candidates using a variety of criteria including skill set, location preferences, qualification level and business sector. The web site also enables candidates to submit CVs.
